Hedesunda camping is in the middle of nature but also very central. There is something for every member of the family to do here. Below we give you an example of various trips but there is much more to discover. Feel free to ask for more information during your stay at the reception.
Färnebofjärden National park
Enjoy the beautiful nature and many rapids in Färnebofjärden National Park. This area is on Unesco’s list and is designated as a biosphere reserve. You can easily spend a day here with all the beautiful hikes, the visitor center “naturum” and the 20-meter high observation tower. Don’t forget to bring some sausages so you can grill at one of the many fire places…and who knows, you might even spot a beaver or otter!
Taste of Africa
In the middle of the Swedish forests you will find this fantastic café. Taste the delicious home-baked African delicacies, browse around the store full of beautiful African products or book a cooking course in the Baobab kitchen. Åsa and Nolan would love to welcome you to this wonderful place!

The Dome
Sweden’s largest arena for extreme sports has incredible things to offer free running, inline, kick bike, climbing, skateboarding, fantastic trampolines and much more. For those waiting, there is a cafe overlooking the indoor hall.

Gårdsjö moose park
Children, the elderly or the disabled, everyone can go on a moose safari. With a tractor and wagon you will be taken to the moose and learn all about these fantastic animals.

Årsunda viking park
Experience together with real vikings how people cooked, made clothes, and worked iron in Viking times. Make your own hammer from Thor or join the Viking games. In high season there is a different theme each week.

Högt och lågt
The outdoor recreation area in Hemlingby / Gävle is an adventure park with 6 different high-altitude courses at different heights and with different levels of difficulty. Challenge your kids, friends, parents and yourself, there really is something for everyone. Here you will experience a day that guarantees both laughter, tingling in the stomach and fantastic memories. Here you can spend three hours testing your limits, climbing, ziplining, jumping and swinging on the different courses.

Also intriguing is a visit to the northernmost whiskey distillery where Scandinavia’s only single malt is distilled. Next to the distillery is a restaurant that offers dishes inspired by the whisky.

Älvkarleby
About 40 km from Hedesunda, the river Dalälven flows into the coast. On the island Laxön you will find a beautiful walk where you can see salmon jumping up against the water during certain seasons. Here you will also find one of Sweden’s oldest hydropower plants, a beautiful bridge and you can also see how the river used to run.
Fire Museum
The beautiful town of Gysinge is home to the fire museum. The collection of this museum includes about 30 beautiful shiny fire trucks and ambulances from the period 1930-1990. In addition, the museum owns all other resources and materials that were necessary for practicing the profession of a firefighter.

Hedesunda padel
North of Hedesunda you will find two beautiful padel courts. Young and old, a group of friends or a company outing, padel is a sport for everyone. Rackets and balls can be rented/purchased here.
